It doesn’t matter if you walk for pleasure, speed, or fitness – completing a distance event is a personal milestone that boosts self-confidence and keeps you motivated. It’s also a great way to support a cause, make new friends, and explore the city.

Train with Us

You’ll train to walk with experienced coaches. Get personalized attention. Learn to walk better, faster, and without injury.

Walk training for 10k, 5k, and Half events takes place bi-monthly on Sundays from 2:00 - 3:30 PM. Meet at US Grant Track, located at NE 33rd Avenue and US Grant Place in Portland, OR.

Train with Others

Group training to walk is more effective than training alone. You’ll improve your walking technique. Learn how to pace yourself. Discover what to eat and drink on the course.

Speed Is Not Important...

But your ability to walk steadily is. To get the most out of this 12-week walk training program:

  • Participants training to walk a 5K should be able to walk 20 minutes without stopping.
  • Participants training to walk a 10K should be able to walk 40 minutes without stopping.
  • Participants training to walk a Half Marathon should be able to walk 60 minutes without stopping.
