Testimonials:

"I want to thank you and the committee of WOW for a wonderful event on Saturday !  It was so much fun and great comraderie.  Our teams enjoyed working together to complete the 6 x 5Ks. We all agreed that next year is a must for us; and we plan to bring along others too!!"

-Margaret M.

"BEAUTIFUL course!! Wow, nothing better than an early morning, cool (but not cold) walk on the paths of a beautiful park, by the river...Quite nice!"

-Kim M.

"Thank you so very much for organizing a great race!  I think it's the best solution you could have come up with after the Willamette Valley Relay.  It was really FUN!  The scenery was fantastic and it was so nice to see other racers so much of the time.  It definitely accommodates all level of participants with the options available.  I especially liked loop #4 with passing by the rose garden."

-Darlene Backlund

"Congrats on another wonderful event Judy.  Had a great time and I really enjoyed the way it was run vs walking out on the road.  Felt safer and your volenteers were very supportive and helpful.  Thank you again and rest up."

-Cheryl R.

Overview of the WV 30K: We created our new event for 2008 as a variation on the long distance Willamette Valley Relay.  Participants can walk solo or as a team member for a great day of fun, challenge, camaraderie, & safety - all on bike paths of Eugene and Alton Baker Park.  As with our other events, we will offer divisions which include Walk Our Way and competitive.

We are going Green!
In 2008, we decided to do things a little differently and focus on making our event as "GREEN" as possible!  To read about the changes we've made and check out some fabulous green resources, click here.

Why Do a One Day 30K?

Convenience. All the fun of a two day relay in less than half the time.

Fun ‘hub’. Come prepared for fun activities for your teammates and your families to enjoy at the center (start and finish in Alton Baker Park, Eugene) of the relay legs.

Ease of travel to the start and finish…Eugene, Oregon – Alton Baker Park located along the Willamette River.

Safety. Let your focus be on your walk surroundings of beauty, of the Willamette River and the bike paths of Alton Baker, not car traffic.

Green. Decrease your driving time and fuel use.

Training. Put your step to the test in preparing for other summer walks and runs.

Willamette Valley Family 5K Walk:

In conjunction with the Lane Coalition for Healthy Active Youth, this brand new event was tailored for children and their families to get out and be active together! The WV 5K Family is a shorter event, also taking place at Alton Baker Park, with family-friendly registration costs.

Willamette Valley 10K Walk/Run:

2008 was the second year for this popular event.  Participants can walk or run the bike path along the Willamette River and cross the same finish line with the 30K participants.
