We need to extend an enormous thank you to our sponsors and volunteers for
WVR 2007! Also, many thanks to Clearwater Clinic: Dr. Bryan Baisinger, Mel Johnson
and Rachel Radonich for volunteering their time and expertise providing you with well earned massages at the finish. Think of them next time you are in need of some
manual therapy. Massage does make a difference.
WOW is looking for dedicated marketing help! As we continue to grow, we need a little help spreading our wings. If you feel up to the task, please email us!

JUDY IS IN THE NEWS!
Vernonia's Voice published an article by our very own Judy Heller in their July/August 2007 issue. Judy's article touts the benefits and wonders of walking - "Did you know exercise walking has been the most popular fitness activity since 1990?"

WVR RECAP
With the relay finished for another year, thanks go out to our fantastic sponsors; REI, NW Foot & Ankle Clinic, Fit Right Northwest and Walk About Magazine. We could not have done it without you!
This was a year of growth for our Willamette Valley Relay. Our much-loved event stretched its legs and added two new events to its repertoire! The first ever Half Relay Team hit the course in Scio, OR at 10:00 pm on Friday evening, joining the Relay teams for the second part of our scenic route. At 8:00 am on Saturday morning, our early morning walkers and a few runners met in Alton Baker Park for a speedy 10K.
As participants settled down in the late afternoon to hear the results, although they were tired, many thoughts already turned to the following year...
...WVR 2008
Just as the dust settles from WVR 2007, we are kicking up dirt in preparation for WVR 2008! The registration for next summer's most amazing experience is already open and will close on December 1, 2007. For next year, our situation is a bit different. In order to assure the success and survival of WVR, we need 50 teams to sign up and pay by December 1st. WVR 2008 will feature the relay, the half relay and additional events to be held in Alton Baker Park. As the WOW Committee hones the tactical plan, walkers can look forward to bigger and better signage, more wildlife and perfect weather. Okay, maybe not perfect!
